I was in such a good place in my life when I had this song by Raye, featuring Mabel and Stefflon Don, on repeat. It was 2019! I even saw Mabel in concert that year. She did a small U.S. tour and it was awesome that she came to town! I wasn’t the only one that had her EPs on rotation stateside!

“Blame Brett” came out about two years ago, so I’m very late to this rock-pop bop! But it’s great. Exploring the universal topics of post-breakup feelings and attempts to alleviate heartbreak, I wouldn’t mind seeing them in concert. Performed by The Beaches, I think they remind me of The Donnas. I was a huge Donnas fan during my end of high school years.

Thanks to my recent Apple Music Replay of the past decade (wow!), I was reminded of the pop-synth ballad “Ship of Fools” from Erasure. Omigod, it’s such a lush track with some heartbreaking afterthoughts on life and trauma. I’m definitely revisiting the album the song is on, The Innocents.

Being reminded of this song alone has made the $9.99 every month worthwhile! (Or, is it $11.99 every month now? You would think I would know considering my monthly reminders).

Don’t block your blessings by believing the hype! If Ruby Rose and Halle were able to share notes – DDG would have been packed up before his shenanigans had began.
