Y’ALL BETTER NOT BE IGNORING THE SONG OF THE SUMMER 2025!!!!!

Officially in my post-Love Island USA season 7 viewership (more on that in a later post!), I’ve made my way to Ariana Madix lore, as she’s the current host of Love Island USA and also known for being a former cast member of the very popular reality show Vanderpump Rules.

I say all that because one of my favorite videos on YouTube right now is a clip from the season 10 Vanderpump Rules reunion in which almost the entire cast member ate her ex-boyfriend and fellow castmate Tom Sandoval up for his seven-month affair with another castmate. You may recall the madness’ nickname as #scandoval.

The way his castmates chewed him up was not only, I hate to admit it, hilarious, but when Lala Kent described his, to put it lightly, haughty behavior to a T, it was amazing because she was correct– and Lisa Vanderpump shouldn’t have attempted to correct her–that at that point in time, the likes of Sandoval are absolutely dangerous people to entertain or engage with in your life. (Watch the clip to get where Kent was coming from). But we often don’t know that until much later on and sadly, emotionally invested more often than not.

Now, everyone here was moved on from this, so I’m late AF to the this. Though I remember when the news broke and how Vanderpump fans were in shambles. Even my homegirl confirmed that it was really scandalous as she was watched Vanderpump during this time!

While the Sex and The City spin-off And Just Like That is a hot ass mess! (I may be hate-watching at this point. Though I’m really enjoying the cameos of the actors who play the elder characters); may this promo for the SATC season three premiere go viral every summer!

(“More, More, More” recorded by Andrea True or sometimes credited as the Andrea True Connection was the perfect song choice for the visuals).

Also, TV-wise, I finally have access to Showtime again, and baybee, I will be catching up on Yellowjackets! Because WHEW season one…I was locked in!

Without access until further notice post-season one, I was still following the official Yellowjackets accounts on social media and when it was confirmed that Elijah Wood was added to the cast, I was so excited because the show already had one of my childhood faves Christina Ricci in it! So I was hopeful they would have some scenes together. But I was bummed I couldn’t watch then and had to steer clear of spoilers online.

The entire cast is great and it’s entertaining, what’s going to happen mesh of body horror, psychological thriller, mystery and sometimes dry humor. I definitely hope to catch up on both the second and third seasons this summer.

In a nutshell, Yellowjackets has a past and present storyline in each episode as it follows what happened to an all-girls soccer team from New Jersey who experienced a plane crash in 1996 (on their way to a competition) and have to survive in the Canadian wilderness. While in present-day, 25 years later, follows a select few in their adulthood as they’re still dealing with the aftermath of the tragedy.

The video below is the banging intro with the title credits!

The below interview with Becky Missal is from the podcast Bi Design with Whitney Young. This is from earlier this year, in which Missal was interviewed by Young to discuss her coming out as queer and what it was like to date a popular lesbian YouTuber and getting caught up in the creative sassiness of her then girlfriend’s ex’s new song back in 2022 “Becky’s So Hot.”

Though I’m hetero (eye-roll), as a friend of the LGBTQ+ community (yay!), I often get the tea straight from the sources.

But still, I sometimes delve into queer gossip via social media out of pure nosiness because there are times the tea is piping! Thus, I was aware of Missal’s girlfriend and the girlfriend’s ex’s (Fletcher’s) music and their history and all the opinions and hot takes about it online.

On seriousness though, Missal’s interview definitely touched on the gossip-y aspects of her rise in notoriety, and it was her openness to breakdown her feelings on a handful of topics throughout that I really appreciated. She was well-spoken but real which was cool.

I think it was important as well that she felt comfortable, at last, to share her side to what was a very publicized incident that impacted her just as much as her then-girlfriend and the ex-girlfriend, with a whole fanbase of her own, singing along lyrics that referred to her, the real, actual Becky. Talk about three sides to every story.
