This is a canon event I fear. If Harry Potter was your first “art versus artist” dilemma I’m sorry to tell you it gets so much worse. #booktok #classics #booktokfyp #booktoker

The music mix below is a “summerween” playlist. I’ve noticed the combined wordplay and merged aesthetics of summer and Halloween the last few years now.

But summer 2025 seems to have become Summerween’s official coming out party!

I like the merging! Considering the seasons also share hues in their color stories, Summerween works so well.

I suppose I’ll be doing my part when I go see the remake of I Know What You Did Last Summer because you know I don’t play about Jennifer Love Hewitt! (And Brandy! I really hope she makes a cameo with a great speaking role! I’m trying to steer clear of any spoilers too. I already saw the movie trending on Twitter/X).

Happy Summerween!

This episode of the podcast Too Much, below, features an interview with model Gigi Paris. You may not know her by name, but, to her absolute chagrin and rightfully so, Paris was caught in a situation in which her, now, former boyfriend, who’s also an actor, and his co-star agreed to a “Are they? Aren’t they?” promo for their rom-com Anyone But You. And the spectacle negatively impacted Paris’ relationship with him.

During the interview, Paris was very open in sharing how difficult and hurtful it all was and while watching, I really admired the courage she had in standing up for herself and realizing what she was enduring was beneath her.

The second video, also below, is a video essay and fantastic deep-dive of when games were designed and targeted towards tween and teenage girls in the ’90s and 2000s; and later the 2010s once games started to be developed for play on smartphones.

The essayist mentioned iconic titles of the heyday and sub-genre such as Barbie Fashion Designer, Kim Kardashian: Hollywood, and Rockett’s New School, which I actually had and was delightfully obsessed with as a kid! I believe I still have my CD-ROM of it as well.

Rockett was so much fun and I was totally immersed in the universe Purple Moon, the company behind Rockett, created. They had a website for the game with even more info about the characters and even published Rockett’s school newspaper to read online! The newspaper was everything.

I’m fan of this video essayist’s work too. She’s often a fan of the content she talks about, but still maintains a great critical eye.

Fab work!
