I believe the above mash-up first went viral on TikTok and we all loved it so much! It’s uplifting and hopeful! How can you not be moved and believe again when listening to it!
With the stunning vocals of Celine Dion, on her 2002 track, “I’m Alive” and the instrumental of The Whispers’ 1979 track “And The Beat Goes On,” The Jammin Kid gave us a bop to keep us going!
I’m so glad he was able to do an official mix!
I’ve always found mash-ups to be such a treat of music innovation. I’ve made a bunch myself and when you find the pairings after much trial and error and cut and paste, it’s such a blast to see the lyrics, beats, and transitions come together.
(Below is a mash-up of mine I did years ago!)
The Jammin Kid, who created “Set My Heart On Fire,” also made three other mixes of the mash-up!

The below animated short is a heartbreaking look into what reconnecting sometimes looks like.
While for some, it’s like no time has passed in a really beautiful way. For others, it’s a challenging, upsetting attempt to build on a former foundation or connection that’s been ruptured by distrust, manipulation, lack of reciprocation, poor excuses based on distance, insincerity, and unsaid words (in my humble opinion) in massive ways.
While I believe sometimes repairing connections is very much possible. Other times, maybe not.
I’m so sorry so many of us have gone through this, or currently in it. Sometimes honest mistakes are to blame, meaning: old habits die hard due to defense mechanisms. But at the same time, unfortunately, we can’t bring everyone with us and it’s because they don’t want to be brought.
Lastly, sometimes we’ve been given more than enough reasons to finally let go. Because exactly how much more humiliation are we supposed to endure.
Maybe at the end, as the band Sahara Hotnights titled their 4th album, What If Leaving Is a Loving Thing ?
