Shardae
Hello, reader!
My name is Shardae and this is my blog, which I began years ago during the original blogosphere era of the 2000s. It was a fun time in which bloggers expressed themselves through the pictures we took on our digital cameras, and of course, our hot takes on anything and everything.
While throughout the years, I didn’t post as much-sometimes I went a whole year and didn’t-I’ve always maintained this site to return to. It’s one of the few online spaces online I’ve maintained since my late teens.
As of late, I’ve been using it as a photo blog. And occasionally, as an online diary. But mainly as a place for my photos and online scrapbooking, where I collect memes, tweets, and videos that I find hilarious, educational, heartwarming, sometimes heartbreaking, or that offers sage advice. Most of what I post is on the grounds of relatability and I post them because it crosses my mind that maybe, just maybe, someone visiting my site can connect.

On a professional note, I’ve been a freelance journalist and reporter for a handful of years, writing for local, legacy, and small/indie publications. I’m also a self-taught editor.
My published articles are accessible here in an abridged version, and as an expanded list, here on my site.
I also run a Substack where more (and only) editorial content is published.

I’m always coming across amazing projects, initiatives, and trends started and run by everyday people who believed in their dreams and potential. I’ve always felt I’ve had an amazing pulse on what readers want to read, know about, and feel inspired by. I’m thankful, in return to the interviewees who gave me their time to share their journeys. And to the editors who were not just professional, but kind in their conduct.
(A bit about my deejaying is below!)
Thanks for reading this bio!

As a DJ, I’ve played at Hotel Chantelle and The Westway in New York City. And what was formerly known as the Gallery Bar and then became the second location of the now closed Max Fish, also in New York City. I also held a summer 2015 residency, on Sunday afternoons, at Sweet & Vicious in NYC’s Bowery area.
In Boston, MA, I’ve deejayed at 6B and the Good Bar.

I’ve also done some podcast episodes. Fingers crossed I stop hating my voice and do more!
