Thanks to the website Music Fashionland, we almost have a completed list of what London based, Albanian artist Rita Ora rocked in the music video for her electro-guitar driven lead U.K. single “R.I.P.” featuring Tinie Tempah. The fashion (which includes some vintage pieces) is definitely high street glamour, which inevitably showcases black, leather, denim (often ripped or shredded), accented studs, zippers, and grommets, and plaid. It is a popular choice for the twenty-something pop star and celebrity circle as Rihanna and Cassie have worn similar to looks to what’s seen in the video in past months. It’s not an original way of presenting hi/lo style since this certain way of casual dress is so easily mimicked, but it is representative of the contradictory youthful but traditional rebellious, just within the specific themes of classic rock ‘n roll simplicity, hipster + hip-hop gaudiness, and even little punk rock touches. The results are always exciting to observe, as there is an intendedly visual gritty and aggressive demeanor, this can be increased or decreased depending on your accessories, foot wear, and make-up choices.
