“Consumerism” is a spit-fire track that has our doyenne of conscious R&B Lauryn Hill audibly losing her mind while somehow remaining focusing on dropping every possible social matter. It’s controversial for it’s lack of structure and on the eve of her release from jail, has caught major dislikes from even some her biggest fans.
There was potential in this track, but her stance on holding the mirror high enough for everyone to see their flaws ends up getting lost in this labyrinth of a track.
