So July 29 is National Lipstick Day! I can’t even recall this being celebrated last year, but hey, for anyone that wears, loves, or is obsessed with makeup, and especially lipstick, today’s just another day to feel less guilty about your growing collection that may range from Wet ‘n Wild and Jordana to By Terry and Tom Ford. As a symbol of classic femininity and in today’s market, a sign of individuality because they are so many hues to choose from, lipstick has certainly evolved.

Many blogs and magazine websites chose to commemorate the day with how-to tutorials, memorable lipstick moments on film, female celebrities best known for their signatures hues, and personal specific favorites, yet some really good quotes have either been inspired or centered around lipstick. So while the “holiday” sounds silly at first (this coming from I with ten red and pink toned lipsticks that virtually look the same but from different brands) listed below are nine quotes to, of course feel inspired or challenged by, and maybe out of all days of the year, feel unapologetic about living that glamorous life thanks to a little pretty concoction created 5,000 years ago.
