“The Giving Tree” Animated Cartoon

Shel Silverstein‘s literary landmark The Giving Tree was released in 1964. Since its publication, the children’s book has been a source of debate in whether it leaves children with a good or warped perception of what is means to give and receive. In 1973, the then 11-year-old book got the animated short treatment with the author himself narrating the film.
