‘A Goofy Movie’ Turns 20
20 years ago on April 7, A Goofy Movie was released and any ’90s kid that saw it has fond memories of watching the father-son shenanigans of Goofy and Max in Middle America to California. And of course, the imagined teen idol that was Powerline, voiced by Tevin Campbell, that provided the sing-along soundtrack.

Billie Holiday Would’ve Been 100 -Years-Old Today
Also on April 7 of this year marks what would’ve been the 100th birthday of blues icon Billie Holiday. Born in Philadelphia in 1915, she began what would become a legendary singing career in Manhattan’s Harlem. She later died due to liver failure in 1959 after, despite great career successes suffered from drug and substance abuse. A biopic on her life was released in 1972 titled Lady Sings the Blues and it starred Diana Ross, who earned an Oscar nomination in the Best Actress category the following year.
